Degus

"Curious & Carefree"

Degus are a species of small, diurnal (meaning they awake during the day) rodent endemic to central Chile. They are highly social, live in burrows, and have been shown to spontaneously nest communally, where groups of mothers will actually nurse one another's young. Degu pups are born relatively precocial, fully furred and with eyes open, and their auditory and visual systems are functional at birth. Unlike most other rodents, male common degus also take part in protecting and raising their pups until they are old enough to leave the family.

A new addition to the KyTy family, we will likely have very few available pups until we are able to expand our colony, so please be patient with us.

We have curated a list of products that will provide you with the most successful experience with your new degu companion.
