Hedgehogs are an absolutely fascinating group of species that have remained relatively unchanged in the last 15 million years, or so. While their prickly exterior may give an initial impression of an animal not to be messed with, when given a chance to relax, they become inquisitive, friendly, and quite easy to handle.
