WHY YOU SHOULD GET A BONDING BUDDY: If simply having a cute, cuddle companion for your pet is not enough, check below for other reasons why this is a must have!

    1. Separation Anxiety:
Bonding Buddies are perfect for pets going to a new home. The stress that results from young animals being separated from their parents for the first time is a lot to handle.  The Bonding Buddy can provide a soft, solid comfort--and a familiar scent--for babies to hold on to during and after travel.  Simply purchase a Bonding Buddy along with your new Glider/Chinchilla/Hedgehog/Piggy, and we'll place the Bonding Buddy in the parents' sleeping area/pouch so it retains their scent for the ride to his/her new home.  This way your baby has something familiar to snuggle with while adjusting to a new environment.

    2. Bonding:
Bonding with a new pet takes time and patience. A Bonding Buddy can be a great way to get your new pet used to your scent during the bonding process! Wear the Bonding Buddy up against your skin for a day, then slip it into your critter's sleeping pouch for them to snuggle with.  They will begin to associate your scent with the comfort of "home".  It can also be carried along in a bonding pouch to give your baby a feeling of security in this new situation.

    3. Introductions:
The Bonding Buddy can be a great tool for 'scent swapping' when trying to introduce two new gliders/hedgehogs to each other.  Scent swapping is an important part of the introduction process, as it lowers the risk of fighting when the actual introduction is made.  Place one Bonding Buddy in each separate cage, preferably where your pet typically sleeps, then simply swap a day or two later.  This allows each critter to safely adjust to the scent of the other, giving them a chance to 'snuggle' before meeting.

    4. Hospital Kennel/Quarantine:
While you never want an animal to fall ill, in a multi-pet home, it can be even worse.  However, being separated from cage-mates can also cause added stress, especially if they are not used to being on their own.  Bonding Buddies are great for the individual animal who needs to be moved into quarantine/recovery, or for the carrier while traveling to and from the vet.  By giving your critter something soft to snuggle and sleep with during its recovery, you can help reduce the anxiety during this temporary separation.  Added Bonus: keep two Bonding Buddies, and 'scent swap' between your main cage and your recovery kennel to give your critter a familiar scent to sleep with.

PLEASE NOTE: As with all fleece items and cage sets, please regularly check the Snuggle Buddy for loose thread or tears to avoid dangerous hang-ups with nails/teeth, especially if your critter is a 'chewer'.
